About the role
Our client, a leader in the Information Technology sector, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in Java/J2EE to join their high-performing agile team. This role is pivotal in supporting a nationally significant and fast-paced programme that employs DEVOPS best practices and follows the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology.
What you will do
- Complete software development tasks both independently and as part of an agile team.
- Participate in program increment planning and related team activities.
- Analyse complex system requirements and utilise design software tools.
- Ensure developed code is modifiable, efficient, reliable, and reusable.
- Provide software process management throughout the coding phase.
- Engineer, author, tune, and document automation scripts for deployment.
What we are looking for
- Clearance: TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline (relevant experience may substitute).
- Demonstrated experience with Java is essential.
- Familiarity with Java/JEE, Python, C/C++, SQL, and various scripting languages.
- Experience in User Interface development and knowledge of databases.
- Strong understanding of software development principles and practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work independently or as part of a team.
