Founded in 2017 by brothers Sam and Sean McBarrons, Nothing But Recruitment was built on a simple belief: recruitment should be specialist, personal and built on trust.
Having spent years recruiting for other agencies, Sam and Sean established NBR to offer a more direct and accountable service. We wanted to build a business where clients work with recruiters who understand their industry, take the time to understand their requirements and remain personally responsible for delivering results. From the initial brief through to placement, our approach is built around personal service, specialist knowledge and lasting relationships.
Occupational health was where NBR began and remains one of our core specialisms. Over the years, we have developed extensive experience supporting occupational health providers and employers with permanent, temporary and contract recruitment across the sector.
As our client relationships grew, so did the scope of our work. Clients increasingly trusted us to support wider healthcare requirements, including NHS and private healthcare, care homes and mental health services. We have supported organisations with everything from ongoing staffing requirements to urgent recruitment needs, adapting our approach to the demands of each role and service.
Our experience has also led to recognition as an accredited supplier on NHS Workforce Alliance Framework RM6281 and through HealthTrust Europe, reflecting our commitment to professional standards and reliable service delivery.
Our growth into executive search has followed the same path. From the early days of NBR, existing clients began approaching us to recruit for senior leadership positions and specialist appointments that required a more targeted approach. As demand grew, developing a dedicated headhunting and executive search capability became a natural next step, allowing us to identify and engage experienced professionals for positions where the right appointment can have a significant impact on an organisation.
Alongside healthcare and executive search, we have expanded into cyber security, data and AI, supporting clients across specialist technical and professional markets. Today, we work with organisations throughout the UK and USA, providing permanent, temporary, contract and executive recruitment solutions tailored to their needs.
Since 2017, we have placed more than 1,000 candidates with over 100 clients. We remain a family-run, owner-led business, with the same personal approach and commitment to quality that shaped NBR from the beginning.

With more than 12 years of recruitment experience, Sean combines specialist market knowledge with a strong commercial background, drawing on his previous experience in sales and account management to build lasting client relationships and deliver effective recruitment solutions.
