About the role
We are seeking an experienced Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to join our client, a leader in the Information Technology sector, specialising in government contracting and providing Enterprise Security and Cloud Computing solutions. This role is based in Annapolis Junction, Maryland, and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced, mission-critical program.
What you will do
- Implement and enforce information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies.
- Evaluate security solutions to ensure compliance with security requirements.
- Assist with Configuration Management for security software, hardware, and firmware.
- Analyse threats and develop best practices for incident detection and vulnerability remediation.
- Maintain operational security posture for information systems and support the Information System Security Manager.
- Develop and maintain documentation for Certification & Accreditation.
- Manage Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs) and related security scans.
- Administer user identification and authentication mechanisms for the Information System.
What we are looking for
- At least 10 years of experience as an ISSO, with a strong background in secure information system operations.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience with IAVA management tools and security documentation.
- Demonstrated knowledge of security tools, hardware/software security implementation, and encryption techniques.
- Experience in performing security evaluations of software systems to ensure they meet requirements.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to best practices.
- Must hold a TS/SCI Full Scope Polygraph, with the last polygraph conducted within the past 6 years.
