About the role
Our client, a leading organisation in the Information Technology sector, is seeking a Senior Oracle Database Engineer / DBA to join their high-performing team. This role involves supporting the Intelligence Community with complex systems that require high standards of interface, performance, and security.
What you will do
- Provide guidance and support for database engineering of large-scale systems within a complex network environment.
- Collaborate with technical managers, integration engineers, and project team members in an Agile setting.
- Implement database engineering practices to ensure engineering rigor across all tasks.
- Support database design, development, implementation, and analysis activities.
- Assist in developing databases and database parser software, translating requirements into usable database schemas.
- Contribute to the development of long-term and short-term requirements for database administration and design.
What we are looking for
- Active TS/SCI Full Scope Polygraph clearance, with the last polygraph conducted within the past 6 years.
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator, particularly with Oracle and/or other relational and non-relational databases.
- Proficiency in Oracle SQL/PLSQL and general SQL, with scripting experience in languages such as JavaScript, Bash, Perl, or Python.
- Strong understanding of programming languages, including Java.
- Ability to plan and prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and at least 10 years of database experience.
