About the role
Our client, a leading organisation in the Information Technology sector, is seeking a Senior Oracle Database Engineer / DBA to join their high-performing team. This role involves providing critical support to the Intelligence Community, focusing on complex systems with stringent performance, security, and interface requirements.
What you will do
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing guidance and support for database engineering of large-scale systems.
- Implementing database engineering practices to ensure rigorous application of best practices.
- Supporting database design, development, implementation, information storage and retrieval, data flow, and analysis activities.
- Assisting in the development of database structures that align with overall system architecture.
- Collaborating with technical managers and project team members in an Agile environment.
- Participating in Program Increment Planning and related Agile team activities.
What we are looking for
The ideal candidate will possess:
- TS/SCI Full Scope Polygraph clearance through the VA Customer.
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator, particularly with Oracle and other relational and non-relational databases.
- Strong proficiency in Oracle SQL/PLSQL and general SQL.
- Experience with scripting languages such as JavaScript, Bash/Linux shell scripting, Perl, and/or Python.
- A commitment to best practices and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline is preferred, with at least 10 years of database experience.
