About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Support Worker to join a specialist children’s residential home in North Devon. This hands-on senior position is crucial in creating a safe, caring, and supportive environment for children and young people. You will lead shifts, support the wider care team, and ensure that each young person's individual needs are met to the highest possible standard.
What You Will Do
- Lead shifts and ensure the day-to-day running of the home is completed to a high standard.
- Organise staff and allocate responsibilities throughout each shift.
- Act as the responsible senior member of staff during shifts, dealing appropriately with incidents and escalating concerns where required.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with the children and provide clear, consistent support.
- Maintain accurate records of accidents, incidents, and interventions.
- Support less experienced staff through induction and day-to-day supervision.
- Assist with healthcare needs, education support, and participate in home activities.
- Undertake sleep-in duties and participate in an on-call rota.

Package
Salary: £29,702.40 per annum based on a 35-hour week, excluding sleep-ins and additional payments. Additional payments are available for sleep-ins and on-call duties. Ongoing training and development opportunities are provided, along with regular supervision and appraisal.
