About the role
We are seeking experienced Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMNs) to join our client, a leading provider of integrated mental health services in the UK. This role involves working in various inpatient mental health units, including acute wards and community hospitals, across Gloucestershire.
What you will do
- Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care on inpatient mental health wards.
- Conduct full mental health assessments, risk assessments, and care planning.
- Administer medication in accordance with NMC standards and client policies.
- Monitor and respond to changes in patient presentation and risk levels.
- Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, occupational therapists, and support workers in multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Support patients experiencing acute distress, psychosis, mood disorders, and complex behavioural needs.
- Utilise de-escalation techniques and least restrictive practices to manage challenging behaviour.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and electronic records.
- Contribute to discharge planning and recovery-focused interventions.
- Follow safeguarding procedures to ensure patient safety at all times.
What we are looking for
- Valid NMC registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN).
- A minimum of 6–12 months recent UK inpatient mental health experience.
- Strong understanding of the Mental Health Act and safeguarding frameworks.
- Confidence in high-pressure, acute mental health environments.
- Excellent communication and de-escalation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.
Package
Pay rates range from £18 to £32 per hour, depending on experience and shift type. We offer flexible working patterns, weekly pay, and the opportunity to work across multiple inpatient mental health services.
