About the role
We are currently seeking a Manager Designate to join our client, a dedicated organisation in the residential childcare sector, to take on a pivotal leadership role within a new 2-bed children's home located in Bideford, Devon. This full-time, permanent position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced residential childcare professional looking to advance their career and contribute to the establishment and development of a new service.
What you will do
- Support the successful development and operation of the new children's home.
- Provide strong leadership and support to the residential care team.
- Ensure the home consistently delivers high-quality care and positive outcomes for children and young people.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, compliance, and operational practice.
- Support staff development, supervision, and ongoing performance.
- Collaborate with senior management and relevant professionals to meet the needs of children and young people.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and care standards.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and Ofsted requirements.
- Play an active role in preparing the service for registration and ongoing inspection requirements.
What we are looking for
- Experience working at a senior level within a residential children's home is preferred.
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent; Level 5 qualification preferred.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills.
- Experience in compliance and operational management within residential childcare.
- A solid understanding of safeguarding and the needs of children and young people.
- The ability to lead by example and foster a positive, supportive team environment.
- Commitment to providing high-quality, child-centred care.
Package
