Occupational Health Advisor Job Overview (Remote Role)
We are recruiting for an experienced Occupational Health Advisor (OHA) to join a remote Occupational Health team, supporting a dedicated client and delivering high-quality, evidence-based Occupational Health services across the UK.
This is a fully home-based Occupational Health Advisor role, focused on delivering professional case management, Occupational Health advice, health surveillance support, and triage services.
You will play a key role in supporting employee health, attendance management, fitness for work decisions, and workplace wellbeing through expert Occupational Health guidance.
This role is ideal for an experienced Occupational Health Nurse, Occupational Health Practitioner, or OH Advisor looking for a flexible remote working opportunity.
Key Responsibilities – Occupational Health Advisor (Remote)
- Deliver Occupational Health case management for attendance, fitness for work, and workplace health referrals
- Provide written Occupational Health reports that are professional, clear, and evidence-based
- Offer expert advice on Occupational Health legislation, best practice, and clinical guidance
- Conduct referral triage and prioritisation of Occupational Health cases
- Manage health surveillance escalations and ensure appropriate clinical follow-up
- Complete Pre-Placement Questionnaires (PPQs) accurately and efficiently
- Provide travel health advice where required
- Support remote delivery of Occupational Health services in line with client requirements
- Maintain accurate clinical records in line with NMC standards, GDPR, and confidentiality requirements
- Ensure all Occupational Health advice is safe, compliant, and evidence-based
Candidate Requirements – Occupational Health Nurse / Advisor
To be successful in this Occupational Health Advisor remote role, you will need:
Essential Requirements:
Registered Nurse (Part 1 NMC registration)
Postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health (Degree or Diploma)
Strong experience in Occupational Health case management
Experience providing Occupational Health advice and producing written clinical reports
Strong understanding of Occupational Health and employment legislation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong IT literacy and confidence working in a remote digital environment
Understanding of data protection, confidentiality, and GDPR in Occupational Health
Desirable Experience:
NMC Part 3 registration
MSc in Occupational Health or related field
Dual RN/RMN registration
Experience in health surveillance and medicals
Experience mentoring Occupational Health students
Experience delivering vaccinations
Experience in ergonomic assessment or advanced OH advice
Experience supporting or managing OH teams
Skills & Attributes

Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting
Confident decision-maker with clear understanding of scope of practice
Strong interpersonal and stakeholder communication skills
Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback

Working Pattern – Remote Occupational Health Role
Part-time: 15 hours per week
2 days per week
Fully remote / home-based (UK)
