Team: CAMHS Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin (STW) Crisis Team
Location: Hall Court, Telford
Contract: Agency – Initial 6 weeks (with potential extension)
Start Date: ASAP

We are currently recruiting experienced Band 6 RMN Community Nurses to join the CAMHS STW Crisis Team, providing vital mental health support to children and young people across the Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin area.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mental health professional to join a specialist 24/7 CAMHS Crisis Service, supporting young people experiencing acute mental health difficulties and requiring urgent assessment and intervention.

The Role:
As a Band 6 Community Nurse within the CAMHS Crisis Team, you will:

• Provide high-quality mental health assessments, interventions, and support to children and young people in crisis.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering safe and effective crisis care.
• Support young people within community settings and the Emergency Department at Princess Royal Hospital, Telford.
• Manage complex clinical presentations and contribute to risk assessments and care planning.
• Work collaboratively with families, carers, healthcare professionals, and external agencies.
• Provide evidence-based interventions and promote recovery-focused care.

Shift Pattern:

• Full-time hours worked across a 4-week rota.
• Day shifts: 07:30 – 20:30
• Night shifts: 19:30 – 08:30
• 24/7 service coverage.

Essential Requirements:

• Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with valid NMC registration.
• Previous experience working within mental health services.
• Experience supporting children and young people is highly desirable.
• Ability to assess and manage risk within a crisis setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Also Considered:

Band 5 RMNs with suitable experience and the right clinical background.
