Are you looking for a role where you can use your healthcare skills while travelling to different locations across the UK?
We’re recruiting a Mobile Health Screener to join a growing occupational health team. You’ll travel to client sites in a Mobile Medical Unit, carrying out health surveillance and screening services for employees across a range of industries.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a healthcare background who enjoys working independently, meeting new people and being out on the road.
What you’ll be doing:
- Carrying out health surveillance and screening assessments
- Performing audiometry and lung function testing
- Taking baseline measurements including height, weight and blood pressure
- Completing urinalysis and other health screening checks
- Accurately recording patient and medical information
- Maintaining screening equipment and ensuring it is clean and fit for use
- Supporting health promotion activities
- Working alongside occupational health nurses and physicians by providing accurate screening and biometric information
Who we’re looking for:
This role could suit candidates from a variety of healthcare backgrounds, including:
- Healthcare Support Workers
- Emergency Care Assistants
- Ambulance Technicians / Assistants
- Emergency Care Technicians
- Army Medics
- Sports Science graduates with experience carrying out baseline health measurements
You’ll need to be confident working independently, well organised and comfortable speaking with people from a range of backgrounds.
Essential requirements:
- Valid manual UK driving licence
- Held your driving licence for at least 12 months
- Must be 21 years of age or over
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of GDPR and confidentiality
- Ability to travel extensively and stay away from home regularly
The travel:
This is a genuinely mobile, field-based role. You’ll drive a Mobile Medical Unit to different client locations, with regional travel and occasional nationwide travel.
You should be comfortable being away from home for approximately 3 weeks out of every 4, including regular overnight stays. You will be home each Friday for the weekend.
You’ll also need suitable facilities to park the Mobile Medical Unit at or near your home address overnight.
Working hours:
- Full-time – 37.5 hours per week
- Usually Monday to Friday
- Typically between 8am and 6pm
