Role Overview
We are seeking Experienced Social Workers to join the Family Safeguarding Service. The service operates in “pods” with 5 Social Workers and 1 Manager per pod, providing oversight and support to all team members.
Successful candidates will work with children and families to assess needs, develop outcome-focused care plans, and ensure interventions are effective and timely.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive assessments, including parenting assessments, to inform care plans
Undertake care proceedings in court, both private and public
Complete interventions within court timescales and work toward permanency plans for children, including adoption
Identify, assess, and respond to complex risks, maintaining detailed and analytical case records
Collaborate with colleagues and multi-agency partners to deliver safe and effective outcomes for children and families
Candidate Requirements
Fully qualified in social work (DipSW, CQSW, CSS, or equivalent)
Significant experience in family safeguarding or child protection work
Competent in court processes and care proceedings
Strong analytical and record-keeping skills
Ability to work within a pod structure and provide peer support

Candidates living 50+ miles from Swindon may claim a flat rate of £100 per week toward accommodation or mileage.
