Occupational Health Advisor – Health Surveillance (Home-Based, UK) Full-time

We are currently supporting a confidential client in the Occupational Health sector who is seeking an experienced Occupational Health Advisor to join their remote clinical team. This is a fully home-based role within the UK, offering flexibility alongside a strong focus on health surveillance and case management.
The Role
You will be responsible for reviewing health surveillance escalations and managing cases escalated from the Occupational Health Technician team and wider business functions. A key part of the role involves ensuring risks are identified early, appropriately managed, and escalated in line with clinical pathways and HSE guidance.
You will also manage a dedicated health surveillance inbox, triage incoming queries, and provide clear direction on next steps, ensuring high standards of clinical governance and consistency.
Core responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and managing health surveillance escalations
- Delivering evidence-based occupational health advice on fitness for work and attendance
- Producing detailed, professional written reports for clients and stakeholders
- Conducting health surveillance assessments including spirometry, audiometry, and general medicals
- Providing guidance on fitness for role decisions and escalating where required
- Working closely with Occupational Health Physicians, clinical leadership, and client relationship teams
- Supporting health promotion, ergonomic advice, and wider OH services where competent
- Contributing to clinical supervision and supporting continuous improvement within the team
About You
We are looking for a qualified and confident Occupational Health professional who can work independently in a remote setting while maintaining strong clinical standards.
Essential requirements:
- NMC registration (Part 1)
- Postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health (degree or diploma)
- Experience in health surveillance and occupational health case management
- Strong report writing and communication skills
- Sound understanding of OH legislation, confidentiality, and data protection
- Ability to manage workload effectively and escalate appropriately when needed
- Competence in spirometry, audiometry, and general medicals

This role is strictly for UK-based candidates. Applicants must be legally eligible to work and reside in the UK and be available during standard UK working hours. Overseas working is not permitted.
