Job Title: Band 6 DoLS Practitioner
Organisation: NHS Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon & Wiltshire
Location: Remote (occasional face-to-face assessments may be required)
Contract: Temporary (until 31 December 2025)
Hours: Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm (flexible for assessment requirements)
Pay: £21 per hour PAYE / £26 per hour Umbrella
The Role:
We are seeking a skilled DoLS Practitioner to join NHS Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon & Wiltshire, carrying out community Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) assessments. You will play a vital role in ensuring individuals’ rights and safety are protected while working predominantly remotely.
Key Responsibilities:
Complete community DoLS assessments and ensure compliance with MCA
Maintain timely and accurate records
Communicate with patients, families, and multi-disciplinary teams
Provide professional input to support decision-making processes
Requirements:
Competent in conducting DoLS assessments in community settings
Knowledge of Mental Capacity Act (MCA) legislation
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and remotely
