Deputy Manager – Residential Children’s Home
Location: Swadlincote
Salary: Up to £40,496* per annum (inclusive of £60 per sleep-in)
Hours: Full-time, shift-based (07:30–23:00), sleep-ins required
Rota: 2 days on / 4 days off (continuous)
We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Deputy Manager to join a supportive, child-focused residential home in Swadlincote. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people with emotional, behavioural, and learning difficulties. You’ll lead by example, inspiring a team to deliver outstanding care, education, and opportunities for each child.
What You’ll Do:
- Support the management of the home, supervising and developing a dedicated team of residential support workers.
- Ensure smooth running of shifts while maintaining high standards of care and safety.
- Deliver child-centered, individualised care, promoting emotional, social, and physical wellbeing.
- Engage with young people, including those displaying challenging behaviour, and create a nurturing, structured environment.
- Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team and external agencies.
- Oversee administration, reports, and compliance with regulations and company policies.
- Deputise for the Manager when required and attend reviews or meetings.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working in a children’s residential home.
- Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Residential Care or Level 4 Children, Young People and Families Practitioner.
- Valid UK/EU driving licence.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
