Registered Manager – Residential Children’s Home
Location: Belper, Derby area (exact location disclosed to shortlisted candidates)
Salary: Up to £58,000 per year + bonus
Are you a passionate leader looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people? We are recruiting a Registered Manager for a well-established residential children’s home supporting children and young people with Emotional Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and Learning Disabilities.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will manage the day-to-day running of the home, lead a dedicated staff team, and ensure every young person receives the highest standard of care, guidance, and opportunity to reach their potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a residential children’s home, ensuring safety, structure, and high-quality care.
- Supervise, develop, and support a motivated team, promoting positive morale and teamwork.
- Oversee care planning, key work systems, and ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and safeguarding standards.
- Collaborate with external agencies, professionals, and families to deliver positive outcomes for young people.
- Manage resources efficiently and maintain an effective administrative and reporting system.
- Actively engage in the life of the home, supporting activities, projects, and on-call duties as required.
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working with children, including 1 year at a senior level in a residential setting.
- Professional qualification: Level 3 in Care (or equivalent); Level 5 Management/Care (or willing to register within 3 months).
- Strong leadership, communication, organisational, and risk management skills.
- Knowledge of Children’s Homes regulations, Quality Standards, and the Children’s Act 1989.
- Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment and build strong community relationships.
- Full, valid UK/EU driving licence.

Hours & Flexibility:
- Full-time role, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm (40 hours/week), with flexibility and occasional weekend or on-call duties.
