About the role
Nothing But Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Surgery Manager (RN) on behalf of our client, a leading acute care hospital in the healthcare sector. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, offering a competitive salary and a sign-on bonus.
What you will do
As the Surgery Manager, you will provide leadership and strategic direction across Surgical Services, overseeing day-to-day operations and ensuring high-quality patient care. Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing daily Surgical Services operations and quality of patient care
- Providing leadership and strategic direction across multiple departments
- Managing departmental budgets, resources, supplies and equipment
- Leading performance improvement and problem-solving initiatives
- Collaborating with surgeons, anaesthesiologists and senior leadership
- Ensuring compliance with hospital policies and safety standards
- Overseeing various departments including Operating Room and Ambulatory Services
- Recruiting, training, and evaluating staff
- Managing employee performance and supporting staff development
- Establishing objectives aligned with wider hospital goals
- Providing hands-on clinical support as an RN when required
What we are looking for
We are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse with a strong background in surgical services and proven management experience. You will need:
- Current Alabama Registered Nurse licence
- BLS certification
- ACLS and/or PALS, where applicable
- Minimum 5 years’ professional experience demonstrating management capability
- 2–3 years’ surgical services experience
- Previous experience managing clinical teams and/or surgical departments
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and make independent decisions
- Willingness to relocate to Muscle Shoals, Alabama within 30 days
