Senior Support Worker Full-time

We are recruiting for a highly respected residential care provider for children and young people, who is seeking enthusiastic, dedicated individuals to join their team. The young people in their care, aged between 8-18 years, have a variety of emotional and behavioural needs, and this is an excellent opportunity to make a significant, positive impact on their lives.

Role Responsibilities:
As a Senior Support Worker, you will lead shifts and deputise for the Registered Manager as needed, ensuring that the team delivers the highest quality care to young people. Your daily tasks will include:

• Leading shifts and deputising for the Registered Manager
• Ensuring that Residential Care Workers are up to date with mandatory training and assisting in their development
• Communicating with the team about individual care plans and their implementation
• Maintaining accurate records for monitoring and evaluation purposes
• Contributing to team and staff meetings to promote effective communication and staff development
• Providing support and care to the young people in the service
• Encouraging young people in their preparation to re-enter education or engage with their current schooling
• Supporting young people with transport to and from school or college
• Preparing meals and maintaining a clean and supportive home environment
• Organising and facilitating social activities

What We’re Looking For:

• A full UK driving licence
• A commitment to completing a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent in Children & Young People’s workforce
• Ideally, 12 months of senior experience in a residential care setting, although applications from those new to the role are also encouraged
• A clean DBS check and reference checks will be conducted as per safer recruitment guidelines
