Senior Support Worker
Location: Plymouth
My client is seeking a passionate and dedicated Senior Support Worker to join their residential team and make a real difference in the lives of young people. This role involves working with young individuals aged 8-18, supporting them with emotional and behavioural challenges, and helping them achieve positive outcomes.
As a Senior Support Worker, you will be involved in all aspects of their daily lives, providing essential care, guidance, and support. Your efforts will have a lasting and meaningful impact on the young people in your care, and you will help create a safe and positive environment where they can thrive.
What My Client Offers:
Hourly pay rate of £13.40 – £14.22, based on experience and qualifications

Shift Pattern:
16-24 hour shifts, including sleep-in, on a one on, two off or two on, four off rotation
Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Support Worker, your duties will include:
Leading shifts and deputising for the Registered Manager when required
Supporting and developing the team of Residential Care Workers by ensuring they are up-to-date with mandatory training and providing guidance for their personal development
Collaborating with the team to ensure the effective implementation of individual care plans
Keeping accurate and detailed records of care provided and ensuring regular monitoring and evaluation
Contributing to staff meetings and supporting good communication and staff development
Providing day-to-day support and care to the young people within the service
Encouraging and supporting young people in their educational journey, including transporting them to and from school or college
Preparing meals and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment
Organizing and facilitating social activities

Requirements:
A full UK driving licence is essential
Desire to work towards achieving a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent Children & Young People’s workforce qualification
12 months of senior-level experience in a residential care setting is highly desirable, but my client welcomes applications from those new to the role
A DBS check and reference checks will be required in line with safer recruitment best practices
