Position Summary
The Director of Emergency Services oversees all clinical and operational functions of the Emergency Department, ensuring efficient care delivery and alignment with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Direct leadership of ER staff and operations in a 12-bed unit
Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, and administration to resolve clinical and operational issues
Maintain performance improvement initiatives within the department
Assist in budget development and manage adherence
Oversee staff education, training, evaluations, and professional development
Set departmental goals, policies, and standards based on clinical, legal, and organizational requirements
Lead patient care delivery strategies, technology use, and service quality
Manage staffing, hiring, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions
Conduct and support internal/external audits
Promote a positive workplace culture and professional growth
Implement evidence-based practices across operations and clinical protocols
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Master’s degree preferred (relevant experience may substitute)
Certifications
BLS required within 1 month of hire
ACLS required within 6 months of hire
PALS required within 6 months of hire
License
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky
