The Role
I’m looking for an experienced, highly motivated Children’s Team Manager to take the lead in a busy Family Support Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children and families, safeguarding vulnerable young people, and building strong, resilient teams of Social Workers.
The Family Support Team works with children and families under Care & Support Plans and Child Protection Plans, and you’ll be managing a committed group of professionals dedicated to achieving the best outcomes.
Your responsibilities will include:
Overseeing Care and Support Plans
Managing Child Protection Plans
Leading on Public Law Outline (PLO) work
Taking cases to first court hearings
Building strong working relationships with partner agencies
You’ll be managing a team of 15 Social Workers, 3 Social Care Assessors, and 3 Assistant Team Managers, with a focus on staff development, retention, and creating a supportive, motivated workplace culture.
About You
To succeed in this role, you’ll need to be:
A qualified and registered Social Worker with management experience
Confident in working under pressure and handling complex casework
Skilled in partnership working with both internal teams and external agencies
A strong leader who can motivate and develop staff while driving positive outcomes for children and families
