About the Role
An established local authority in Herefordshire is seeking skilled and committed Social Workers to join their Safeguarding and Support teams, working directly with children, young people, and their families. This is a hands-on role focused on making a real difference by supporting families, safeguarding children, and delivering meaningful, lasting change.
Key responsibilities include:
Building trusting relationships with children, young people, and families
Providing early help and support while taking decisive action to safeguard children when needed
Working collaboratively with families and partners to empower positive outcomes
Ensuring the child’s voice is central to all interventions
Taking part in a culture of reflective practice and continuous improvement
About the Teams
The client’s Safeguarding & Support service is organised into six teams across three localities: South, North, and Central. Each team includes a Team Manager, Senior Practitioners, Social Workers, and Family Support Workers. Locality working allows staff to stay connected with colleagues while benefiting from flexible and home working arrangements.
The teams operate using a restorative approach to social work, with collaboration, reflection, and support embedded in the practice culture. Senior managers provide guidance and support, especially when managing complex cases.

Candidate Requirements
Registered with Social Work England and hold a recognised Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW)
