Senior Support Worker
Location: Plymouth
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Support Worker to join a fantastic team providing residential care and support to young people with emotional and behavioural needs. The young people in this service are aged 8-18, and you will play a vital role in ensuring they have the support they need to thrive.
We are seeking dedicated, enthusiastic, and compassionate individuals to join a dynamic team in the South West region. As a Senior Support Worker, you will be directly involved in improving the lives of young people, with a positive and lasting impact on their development.
What We Offer:
Hourly pay rate of £13.40 – £14.22, depending on experience and qualifications

Shift Pattern:
16-24 hour shifts (including sleep-in), with rotating shifts such as one on, two off, or two on, four off
Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Support Worker, you will be responsible for:
Leading shifts and stepping in as required to deputise for the Registered Manager
Supporting Residential Care Workers, ensuring they are up to date with mandatory training and assisting in their professional development
Communicating with the team to ensure individual care plans are understood and properly implemented
Keeping accurate records in logs, files, and other documentation for monitoring and evaluation
Contributing to team meetings to promote open communication and staff development
Providing essential care and support to the young people in the service
Assisting young people with their education and ensuring they are prepared to re-enter school or engage with their current studies
Helping transport young people to and from school or college
Preparing meals and maintaining the home environment through cleaning and laundry
Organizing and facilitating social and recreational activities

What We’re Looking For:
A full UK driving licence is essential
Willingness to work towards earning a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent qualification in Children & Young People’s Workforce
At least 12 months of senior-level experience working in a residential care setting is highly desirable, but we also welcome applications from individuals new to the role
A DBS check and reference checks will be carried out in line with safer recruitment best practices
