CAMHS Triage & Assessment Clinician Contract

We are recruiting on behalf of the NHS for an experienced CAMHS Triage & Assessment Clinician to join the Barking & Dagenham CAMHS team. This temporary role is focused on reducing the triage backlog and supporting duty tasks.

Role Overview:
As a CAMHS Triage & Assessment Clinician, you will play a critical role in delivering comprehensive mental health assessments for children and young people referred to CAMHS. This role is ideal for professionals with significant CAMHS experience who can excel in a busy, front-door service environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct initial assessments (IA) and comprehensive mental health evaluations.
• Perform detailed risk assessments and develop robust risk management plans.
• Focus on clearing the triage backlog and assisting with duty tasks.
• Provide timely and clinically sound assessments to address the emotional wellbeing and mental health needs of children and young people.

Skills and Experience Required:
Registered Nurse with membership of an appropriate professional or regulatory body (e.g., NMC).
Extensive clinical experience in CAMHS and working with children and young people.
Expertise in delivering robust mental health and risk assessments, with effective risk management strategies.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.

Job Details:
Team: Barking & Dagenham CAMHS
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, either 9am – 5pm or 5pm – 8pm, based on staff availability.
Contract Duration: Ongoing
Paye Pay Rates: £23.34 per hour Days, £29.61 per hour Nights and Saturday, £35.88 per hour Sundays and Bank Holidays
Umbrellas Pay Rates: £30.87 per hour Days, £40.21 per hour Nights and Saturday, £49.66 per hour Sundays and Bank Holidays
