Our client is seeking a dedicated Occupational Health Technician to join their expanding peripatetic team. In this role, you will be responsible for traveling throughout the UK (close to you) in a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) to provide essential health surveillance services at various client sites. Applicants must be comfortable with frequent travel, including overnight stays, and have the ability to park the unit near their home address overnight. Typically, candidates will be away from home for about 3 out of 4 weeks each month, with weekends off.
This is a full-time position, requiring 37.5 hours per week, typically between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm. You will be expected to travel across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct health surveillance screenings, including audiometry, lung function testing, drug and alcohol testing, and baseline measurements (height, weight, blood pressure, urinalysis).
Ensure accurate recording of all medical information in occupational health records, passing details to relevant clinical staff.
Maintain and ensure all equipment is clean, serviceable, and fit for use.
Assist with additional tasks such as health promotion activities.
Provide support to the Occupational Health team by ensuring the department runs smoothly and effectively, including non-clinical tasks like filing and tidying.
Help the wider team in gathering and recording accurate information.
While you will not be interpreting clinical results, you will provide valuable biometric data to assist in clinical decision-making, including interpreting drug and alcohol test results, if trained to do so.

Experience with health surveillance and health promotion activities.
A good understanding of GDPR and confidentiality.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work to strict deadlines using your initiative.
Approachable with good interpersonal skills.
Full UK manual driving license.
Education & Qualifications:
Experience in a health-related field is desirable but not mandatory.
Knowledge or experience in health surveillance is a plus.
