Senior Support Worker
Location: Bridgwater
My client is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Support Worker to join their residential team. The role offers the opportunity to support young people aged 8-18 who have a range of behavioural and emotional needs. As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a key role in enhancing the lives of these young individuals and helping them thrive in a nurturing and safe environment.

Shift Pattern:
16-24 hour shifts (including sleep-in), on a one on two off or two on four off rotation
Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Support Worker, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Leading shifts and deputising for the Registered Manager when needed
Supporting and guiding the team of Residential Care Workers, ensuring they are up-to-date with mandatory training and helping with their personal development
Collaborating with the team to ensure the effective implementation of individual care plans
Keeping accurate records of care provided and contributing to regular monitoring and evaluation
Participating in team meetings and staff development sessions
Providing hands-on care and support to the young people within the service
Supporting young people in their educational journey, including transporting them to and from school or college
Preparing meals and maintaining a clean and welcoming home environment
Organizing and facilitating social activities

Requirements:
A full UK driving licence is essential
A genuine desire to work towards earning a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or an equivalent qualification in the Children & Young People’s workforce
12 months of senior-level experience in a residential care setting is preferred, but applications from those starting their journey in this field are also encouraged
A DBS check and reference checks will be required in accordance with safer recruitment guidelines
