Occupational Health Nurse Job Overview (Samlesbury)
We are recruiting for an experienced Occupational Health Nurse (RGN, NMC registered) to join a multidisciplinary Occupational Health team at a client site in Samlesbury, Lancashire.
This is a hands-on clinical Occupational Health role delivering a wide range of services including health surveillance, case management, fitness for work assessments, travel health, vaccinations, and minor injury/illness care.
You will be part of a supportive, collaborative Occupational Health department, working closely with Occupational Health Advisors, Technicians, and external healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality employee health services.
Key Responsibilities – Occupational Health Nurse Role
- Deliver health surveillance programmes and manage escalations via Occupational Health Technicians
- Conduct case management and fitness for work assessments
- Provide clinical assessments for employees presenting with minor illness and injury
- Carry out pre-employment health assessments
- Deliver travel health assessments and administer travel vaccinations
- Attend emergency call-outs when required
- Provide professional Occupational Health advice, support, and guidance
- Support and work closely with the Senior Occupational Health Advisor
- Ensure clinical assessment skills are maintained in line with best practice and NMC standards
- Contribute to workplace health and wellbeing initiatives
- Liaise with external healthcare providers and multidisciplinary teams
Candidate Requirements – Occupational Health Nurse (RGN)
To be successful in this Occupational Health Nurse role, you will need:
Essential Requirements:
Registered General Nurse (RGN) with valid NMC registration
Experience in Occupational Health or Practice Nursing
Strong experience in case management and health surveillance
Good understanding of Occupational Health clinical practice
Strong organisational and prioritisation skills in a busy clinical environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and clinical systems

Confident, proactive, and able to handle a varied clinical caseload
Working Pattern – Occupational Health Nurse Job
Full-time: 37.5 hours per week
Monday to Friday
Flexible working between 07:30 – 17:30
On-site role based in Samlesbury, Lancashire
