Nothing But Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Band 6 Sexual Health Practitioner on behalf of a leading NHS service in Croydon.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy, integrated sexual health service where you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care while supporting the day-to-day running of the clinic. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you’ll provide expert sexual health and contraception services, supervise junior colleagues, and contribute to the continued development of the service.

The Role

As a Band 6 Sexual Health Practitioner, you will deliver practitioner-led clinics, providing expert assessment, diagnosis and treatment across a wide range of sexual health presentations. You’ll also act as a clinical resource for colleagues, supporting junior staff while helping to ensure the smooth operational running of the service.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality integrated sexual health services within a busy clinical environment.
• Conduct practitioner-led clinics, including comprehensive history taking and physical examinations.
• Assess, diagnose and manage sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and provide specialist sexual health advice.
• Prescribe or supply treatment under Patient Group Directions (PGDs), or prescribe independently where qualified.
• Provide contraceptive counselling, including hormonal contraception.
• Perform or work towards competency in the insertion and removal of contraceptive implants.
• Supervise, support and mentor junior members of the clinical team.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary clinical and non-clinical colleagues to deliver outstanding patient care.
• Act as a clinical expert, sharing specialist knowledge and supporting service development.

About You

To be considered, you should have:

• Current experience working within sexual health or integrated sexual health services.
• Up-to-date knowledge of contraception, sexually transmitted infections and current treatment pathways.
• Experience undertaking clinical assessments, history taking and physical examinations.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide confidential, sensitive and non-judgemental care.
• Experience working under PGDs and/or Independent Prescriber status (desirable).
• Competency in implant insertion and removal, or willingness to develop these skills.
• The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a multidisciplinary team.
