We are currently recruiting for an Occupational Health Technician to join a well-established occupational health provider supporting employees across a large on-site operation in Barrow-in-Furness.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone from a healthcare, emergency services, fitness, military, or medical support background who is looking to move into Occupational Health and build a long-term career within a growing healthcare sector.
Full training and support will be provided, making this a fantastic entry route into Occupational Health for candidates with transferable skills and a proactive attitude.
The Role
As an Occupational Health Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out a range of health screening and surveillance activities in line with company procedures and clinical protocols.
Key duties will include:
- Conducting baseline health assessments including height, weight, blood pressure and urinalysis
- Carrying out health surveillance activities such as audiometry and lung function testing
- Supporting Safety Critical Medical Assessments
- Maintaining accurate occupational health records and escalating findings to clinical staff where required
- Supporting drug and alcohol testing procedures in line with chain of custody requirements
- Ensuring high standards of confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Assisting with general administrative and non-clinical duties within the department

- Fitness Instructor or Personal Trainer

- Nursing Assistant
- Emergency Services Personnel
- First Aid or Medical Response Roles

- Previous Occupational Health experience is beneficial but not essential as full training will be provided.
Working Hours
- 37.5 hours per week
- Monday to Thursday: 7:15am – 4:00pm
- Friday: 7:15am – 11:45am
- Occasional night shifts may be required
