About the Role
A local authority in Herefordshire is seeking experienced Social Workers to join their countywide Kinship team. In this role, you will:
Assess Connected/Kinship Foster Carers and potential Special Guardians
Provide support and supervision to approved kinship carers
Conduct complex assessments for Court/Foster Panel
Ensure placements are stable, safe, and provide high-quality care
Collaborate with colleagues and partner services to enhance support for children and carers
Understand and adhere to regulatory requirements for Kinship care
This is a specialist role within the fostering service, which also covers private fostering and offers ongoing support post-order to Special Guardians. The team is dedicated to improving outcomes for children and supporting carers throughout their journey.
Candidate Requirements
Social Work qualification (Degree, DipSW, or equivalent)
Minimum 3 years’ recent experience in statutory children’s services, preferably in Kinship & Fostering
Registered with Social Work England
Full driving licence with access to a car
Strong safeguarding knowledge and excellent assessment and report-writing skills
