Location: Hybrid Role (1-2 Days Per Week On-Site at Inchinnan, Bristol, or Derby)
Hours: Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week (Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 6:00pm)
Salary: £43,000 – £45,000 per annum
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Occupational Health Advisor to join a collaborative and dynamic team. This position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact by supporting employees’ health and wellbeing through expert occupational health services. This is a hybrid role, requiring flexibility to work on-site 1-2 days per week at one of the listed locations.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide evidence-based case management for referrals related to attendance, fitness for work, and occupational health advice.
Deliver professional and comprehensive written reports.
Offer expert advice on legislative requirements and best practices in occupational health.
Conduct fitness medicals and health surveillance in line with protocols and best practices.
Evaluate medical and surveillance results, providing appropriate fitness advice, and escalating as needed.
Deliver additional services such as vaccinations, travel health advice, ergonomic assessments, or health promotion (if competent).
Supervise and support team members, including Occupational Health Technicians.
Maintain valid and up-to-date registration with the NMC and adhere to continuous learning and professional development requirements.
Key Competencies and Skills:
Registered Nurse (Part 1) with a postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health (Degree/Diploma).
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Proficiency in:
Spirometry
Audiometry
General Medicals
Drug and Alcohol Screening
Case Management
Fitness-for-Role Assessments
Comprehensive understanding of data protection and confidentiality principles in occupational health.
Ability to demonstrate flexibility, proactive problem-solving, and partnership working.
Skilled in creating and delivering presentations to various stakeholders.
Education and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Occupational Health.
Current Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registration.
