Nothing But Recruitment is seeking Investigation Support Officers to join a busy team supporting criminal and safeguarding investigations. This role involves working closely with statutory partners, gathering evidence, and ensuring all investigative processes are completed accurately and efficiently.
The role:
Assist in investigations by gathering and recording evidence, liaising with Children’s Social Care, and attending child protection case conferences.
Conduct interviews with witnesses and victims, take high-quality statements, and assess veracity and reliability for court purposes.
Coordinate seizure, viewing, and analysis of CCTV and other evidence, including house-to-house enquiries when required.
Support victims and witnesses by providing updates and signposting to appropriate support services.
Act as exhibits officer when needed, ensuring proper handling, storage, and documentation of evidence.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., PACE, CPIA, RIPA) to ensure investigations comply with legal and professional standards.
Ensure safeguarding actions are carried out during investigations to mitigate risks to victims, witnesses, and suspects.
Produce accurate reports, maintain records, and assist officers with case preparation.
What we’re looking for:
Full clean UK driving licence (essential).
ABE (Achieving Best Evidence) trained.
Experience of safeguarding vulnerable persons desirable.
Experience in criminal investigations, including interviews and statement-taking desirable.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines under pressure.
Excellent communication skills and ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues and statutory partners.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office; knowledge of intelligence systems (Athena, PNC) desirable.
High integrity due to handling confidential and sensitive material.
Flexible and willing to work extended hours or at different locations if required.
Contract details:
Temporary contract: 19 weeks.
40 hours per week.
