About the Role
A local authority in Herefordshire is looking for an experienced Social Worker to join their Assessment Team. This is a key role in safeguarding children and supporting families, working directly with children, young people, and their families alongside colleagues in the Directorate and partner agencies.
You will:
Respond to referrals in a timely, child-focused manner
Conduct assessments and investigate concerns to determine appropriate support
Manage a complex caseload effectively
Produce high-quality analytical reports
Work collaboratively with partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes for children and families
This role is part of the local authority’s Restorative Journey of Improvement, which focuses on reflective practice, strong partnerships, and delivering meaningful change for children and families.
Candidate Requirements
Qualified Social Worker (DipSW, CQSW, CSS, or equivalent)
Minimum 2 years’ recent experience in statutory children’s social care
Strong assessment, report-writing, and case management skills
Registered with Social Work England
Committed to safeguarding and improving outcomes for children and families
