Position: Senior Support Worker
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Support Worker to join a leading provider of care and education for children and young people. Our client is committed to creating a supportive and dynamic environment where both staff and young people thrive.
The young people in care are aged between 8 and 18 years old and have various emotional and behavioural needs. We are seeking passionate, caring, and adaptable individuals to join their team in the South West region and help make a positive impact on the lives of the young people in their care.

Hourly pay: £13.40 – £14.22 (depending on experience/qualifications)

Shift pattern: 16–24 hours (including sleep-in) on a one-on-two-off or two-on-four-off basis
Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Support Worker, no two days are the same, but your duties may include:
Leading shifts and deputising for the Registered Manager as needed
Ensuring the team of Residential Care Workers are up to date with all mandatory training and assisting with their development
Communicating effectively with the team to raise awareness of care plans and ensure their proper implementation
Maintaining accurate records, logs, and files for regular monitoring and evaluation
Contributing to team meetings and promoting staff development
Providing direct care and support to the young people within the service
Encouraging young people to engage with their education and assist with their transition back into schooling
Traveling with young people to and from school or college
Preparing meals and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment in the home
Organising and facilitating social activities

Requirements:
Full UK driving licence
A desire to earn a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent qualification in the Children & Young People’s Workforce
12 months of senior experience in a residential setting is highly desirable, but applications from those starting their career are also welcomed
DBS and reference checks will be undertaken in line with government regulations and safer recruitment practices
