CAMHS Practitioner Contract

We are recruiting on behalf of the NHS Essex MID CAMHS Team for an experienced CAMHS Practitioner (Band 7). This role involves working with young people experiencing complex mental health issues, providing assessments, ongoing treatment, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Undertake weekly complex assessments for young people presenting with high levels of risk.
• Provide crisis follow-up support, offering ongoing care and risk management.
• Deliver tailored treatments to allocated cases, including individual work with skills in CBT or DBT.
• Attend Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) and team meetings, as well as CPA, child protection, child in need, and strategy meetings.
• Support Band 6 practitioners and contribute to the development of care pathways.
• Work with patients transitioning from inpatient care to the community.

Skills and Experience Required:
Qualified RMN (Registered Mental Health Nurse) with relevant CAMHS experience.
Strong skills in assessment, formulation, care planning, risk assessment, and risk management.
Experience working with young people, families, schools, and social care services.
Ability to demonstrate effective partnership working and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in CBT/DBT interventions for mood, anxiety, and co-morbidities with neurodevelopmental diagnoses.
Experience working with high-risk and complex cases.
Willingness and ability to travel across the Mid Essex area, covering Chelmsford, Braintree, Maldon, and Halstead.

Patients are seen face-to-face in clinic spaces throughout the MID area.

This role requires a proactive and adaptable professional who can effectively manage caseloads and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
