Our client, a global innovator in medical manufacturing, is on the lookout for a Shift Engineering Technician to join their elite night-shift team. This isn’t your average maintenance role — it’s a technical leadership position in a high-spec production environment that demands sharp fault-finding skills, initiative, and a proactive mindset.

With state-of-the-art automation, vision inspection, robotics, and PLC-controlled systems, this site is one of the most technically advanced in the Southwest. If you’ve got solid engineering foundations and love mentoring, diagnosing tricky faults, and driving process improvements, this is your shot.

What you’ll be doing

• Troubleshooting complex equipment faults and supporting production teams in real time
• Acting as the go-to expert for specific equipment and processes
• Coaching and mentoring Production Technicians to upskill and boost team capability
• Using HMIs, MES systems, and data to diagnose and resolve recurring issues
• Taking ownership of continuous improvement projects that impact cost, output, quality, and safety
• Supporting project engineers during installations, commissioning, and upgrades
• Leading small improvement initiatives and coordinating with Toolroom, Quality, and Validation functions

What we’re looking for

• A Level 3 qualification (or equivalent experience) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• Strong background in high-volume manufacturing or automated assembly environments
• Hands-on knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, robotic, and servo systems
• Confident with systems like SAP for logging, fault tracking, and ordering parts
• Excellent fault-finding and technical problem-solving ability
• Comfortable mentoring and supporting junior technicians — patience, clarity, and positivity are key
• A self-starter who thrives on ownership, initiative, and being part of a forward-thinking team
