Location: Plymouth
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 3 on / 3 off | 11pm – 11am
Salary: Competitive + 48% shift premium

We’re working with a global manufacturing leader that’s expanding operations and investing in top talent. Right now, they’re looking for an experienced Production Technician to join their night shift team at their cutting-edge site in Plymouth.

If you enjoy solving problems, getting hands-on with machinery, and keeping high-volume production lines running at peak performance, this is the role for you.

The role in a nutshell
You’ll be responsible for the technical support, maintenance, and optimisation of fully automated production lines. Whether it’s fault-finding, preventative maintenance, or tweaking processes for better output — you’ll play a key part in keeping things running like clockwork.

What you’ll be doing

• Diagnosing and repairing electro-mechanical faults
• Performing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
• Setting up machinery to meet quality and safety standards
• Identifying and removing inefficiencies and bottlenecks
• Supporting equipment installs, validations, and process transitions
• Spotting opportunities for continuous improvement
• Collaborating with production, engineering, and quality teams
• Maintaining safety awareness, especially around electrical and compressed air systems

What we’re looking for

• Qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering (C&G, HND, or apprenticeship)
• Strong problem-solving skills and a knack for root cause analysis
• Experience in high-volume, highly automated manufacturing
• IT literate with a methodical, structured approach
• A team player who’s also self-motivated and capable of working independently
• Safety-first mindset, particularly in high-spec technical environments
