Job Summary:

As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people residing in our residential facilities. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the well-being, safety, and development of the children, while creating a nurturing and homely environment. Working as part of a team, you will build positive relationships, implement care plans, and facilitate engaging activities to promote their growth and positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day care and support to children and young people in a residential setting, ensuring their safety, well-being, and physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Build positive relationships with the children, establishing trust and promoting a sense of belonging and security.
  • Implement individual care plans and support strategies, collaborating with colleagues and relevant professionals to meet the specific needs and goals of each child.
  • Create a nurturing and stimulating environment, organising and facilitating age-appropriate activities, outings, and recreational opportunities.
  • Support children in their daily routines, including meals, personal hygiene, schoolwork, and leisure activities, encouraging independence and life skills development.
  • Observe and document significant information, incidents, and progress in written reports and contribute to the overall assessment and evaluation process.
  • Collaborate with colleagues therapists, and external professionals to provide comprehensive care, ensuring effective communication and coordination of support services.
  • Promote and maintain a safe and secure environment, implementing safeguarding procedures, risk assessments, and health and safety guidelines.
  • Support children in developing positive social skills, emotional regulation, and conflict resolution techniques, providing guidance and role modelling appropriate behavior.
  • Attend relevant training and professional development sessions to enhance your knowledge and skills in working with children and young people in a residential setting.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • NVQ Diploma Level 3 in Residential Childcare (Desirable) or Level 3 in Health and Social care.
  • Prior experience working with children and young people, preferably in a residential care or childcare setting.
  • A valid driver's license may be required for certain positions.
 

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £29,850.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Mablethorpe, Lincolnshire: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience:

  • Residential Childcare: 1 year (preferred)
  • Support Environment: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (preferred)
  • NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care (preferred)
