Registered Mental Health - Night Coordinator

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Registered Mental Health Nurse for a Night Coordinator role at private hospital situated in Charlwood, West Sussex. Consisting of 5 wards, the hospital provides care for men with mental illness and/or personality disorder in a medium/low secure environment.

The Night Coordinator, who should be an experienced and dynamic nurse, will assume responsibility for the hospital during the night hours, this will include:

  • Provision of leadership, support and supervision for the staff working within the unit
  • The monitoring of direct staff and patient care
  • Responsibility for safety and security across the hospital during the night hours
  • Monitoring and management of staff resources during the night shift
  • Responding to incidents and emergencies; taking the lead where appropriate and/or guiding and supporting the staff as necessary 

To be successful as Night coordinator you’ll need:

  • A first level nursing degree and full registration as a Mental Health Nurse (RMN)
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience within a forensic setting including experience in the supervision of junior staff
  • Previous experience of night coordinating would be an advantage but not essential
